These terms govern your use of Thesis Formatting, a document formatting service operated by Academic Consulting Ltd, New Zealand. By submitting your thesis, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Thesis Formatting provides professional document formatting for academic theses and dissertations. We format your document to a submission-ready standard based on your university's requirements and your instructions.

2. Quotes and payment

A personalised quote is provided after we analyse your document. The quoted price reflects the complexity of your thesis at the time of submission. Payment is required before work begins. All prices are in New Zealand dollars (NZD).

Once payment is received, we will not charge additional fees unless you request work that falls outside the original scope of the quote.

3. Turnaround times

Advertised turnaround times (48-hour Standard, 5-day Relaxed) apply to typical thesis submissions. For unusually large or complex documents, we may need to contact you before commencing work to agree on a revised timeline. We will always communicate this promptly and will not begin work until you have confirmed you are happy to proceed.

Turnaround times begin once payment is received and we have confirmed we can proceed with your submission.

4. Delivery

Your formatted document will be made available for download via a secure link sent to your email address. Download links expire 48 hours after delivery.

5. Revisions

Each time we deliver your formatted document, a 48-hour revision period begins. During this period you may request formatting corrections at no additional charge, and we will redeliver the corrected document — which starts a fresh 48-hour window. If a revision window passes with no request from you, the order is considered complete.

Revisions cover formatting corrections to the work we have delivered. Requests made after a revision window has closed, or for new requirements or content that was not part of the original quote, may be treated as new work and incur additional charges. Revisions are limited to formatting — we do not edit the content, wording, or academic substance of your thesis.

6. Your content

You retain full ownership of your thesis at all times. By submitting your files, you grant us a limited licence to format your document as part of providing the service. We will not reproduce, publish, share, or use your thesis content for any other purpose.

Your uploaded files are stored securely and deleted after the revision window closes. See our Privacy Policy for details.

7. Limitation of liability

Our liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount paid for that service. We are not liable for any consequences arising from the submission of a formatted document to a university, institution, or any other party. It is your responsibility to review the formatted document before submission.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

This privacy policy explains how Thesis Formatting, operated by Academic Consulting Ltd of New Zealand, collects, uses, and stores your personal information. We comply with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

Thesis Formatting is operated by Academic Consulting Ltd, based in New Zealand. You can contact us at support@thesisformatting.co.nz with any privacy-related requests or questions.

2. Information we collect

When you use this service, we collect:

• Your name and email address — provided when you submit your thesis, used to communicate with you about your order.
• Your uploaded thesis file(s) — stored securely to enable us to format your document.
• Your institution — provided when you submit, used to apply the correct formatting guidelines.
• Your IP address and location — recorded when you submit your thesis for fraud prevention and abuse detection. Your country is also detected via Cloudflare to display an approximate price in your local currency.
• Payment information — processed by Stripe (see below). We do not store your card details.
• Usage data — collected anonymously via Google Analytics (page views, session duration, traffic sources). No personally identifiable information is included in analytics data.

3. How we use your information

We use your information solely to provide the thesis formatting service:

• To process your submission and deliver your formatted document.
• To communicate with you about your order, including delivery and revision requests.
• To process payment via Stripe.
• To understand how visitors use the site in aggregate (Google Analytics).

We do not sell, share, or use your personal information for marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

Stripe — Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you pay, you are interacting with Stripe's secure checkout. Stripe handles your payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We receive confirmation of payment but do not have access to your card details.

Cloudflare — This site's DNS and traffic are routed through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may collect request metadata (including IP address) in accordance with their privacy policy. We use Cloudflare's country-detection header to automatically select an approximate display currency.

Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics to collect anonymised usage data about how visitors use this site. This includes page views, session duration, and referral sources. Analytics data does not identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

5. File retention and deletion

Your uploaded thesis file(s) and the formatted version we deliver are stored securely on our servers. Files are deleted automatically:

• 48 hours after delivery — once the revision window closes, all files associated with your submission are permanently deleted.
• Immediately on cancellation or rejection — if a submission is cancelled before delivery, files are deleted right away.

We recommend you retain your own copies of all files. Once deleted, files cannot be recovered.

6. Your rights (NZ Privacy Act 2020)

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:

• Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of any inaccurate personal information.
• Request deletion of your personal information (subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain certain records).

7. Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Uploaded files are stored securely and are only accessible via time-limited, token-protected download links sent directly to your email. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, or loss.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last revised. Continued use of the service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
